Cottonwood Police Sergeant Gareth Braxton-Johnson explained that there is not enough evidence to show that Mark Donald Arneson, the dog's owner, actually pulled the trigger putting two rounds in Buddy's skull, but he clearly placed the dog in harm's way, if, in fact, he gave the dog to another man, as he claims.

A 77-year-old woman is thought to have over-corrected her Buick while driving near the top of the Cornville Road switchbacks early Friday morning. The vehicle rolled-over one time landing on its roof. Verde Valley Fire crews say the woman needed to be extricated. She was thrown into the back seat of the car and was face down. It's believed she was not using her seatbelt at the time of the wreck. She was transported to the hospital to be treated for neck pain VVN/Dan Engler
